A Relaxed Affair At A Unique Hotel

There was virtually no stress whatsoever from the minute the reception began, and this mood continued. Time ticked along sedately as guests chatted amongst themselves, drinking wine and catching up with one another while dinner was served.
Dinner consisted of petite filet mignon's and Maine lobster tails prepared with the sort of attention to detail that one would expect from The Desmond.
This event primarily focused on the guests having an opportunity to enjoy a unconstrained-paced dinner in the company of their friends and family members.
By the time the dance floor opened, the guests were eager and ready to fill the dance floor.
We opened with "Start Me Up" by the Rolling Stones and finished by playing Caitlin and Jeff's wedding song a second time, to bring everything to a nice close.
This method is one I've often been misquoted for in various magazines. As a wedding entertainment director, I've never been a fan of the "one more song" chant, for obvious reasons.
My feeling is that by playing the bride and groom's first dance song when they first enter the room, and again as the final song of the evening, their song acts as "bookends" for the evening.
It serves to remind all the guests why they are there, plus it gives the bride and groom one more chance to enjoy their moment, sharing one final dance before embarking on their honeymoon.
Congratulations, Caitlin and Jeff!
