Not long ago, I was in the search for a new DJ vehicle to replace my battered, gas-guzzling van. After a pretty extensive search, I ended up at Fred Beans in Doylestown, where I met the father of a soon-to-be bride, Mike Dougherty. I have to point out, I was not enthusiastic about purchasing a new vehicle, but Mike made the experience a very pleasant one.

Morris Arboretum weddingDuring the process of signing the paperwork, it came out that I was a wedding DJ. Have you ever been sitting across from a car dealer and tured the tables on them, assuming the role of salesman? Anyway...

This was an outstanding event. Events hosted at Cescaphe always are.

After the ceremony, the guests made their way into a room filled with a giant spread of food and drink. Try to imagine your favorite food... It was probably there in three different forms.

I know I say this pretty often, but the dance floor filled after dinner and stayed that way until midnight. It was a great collection of wedding guests who all were interested in showing their enthusiasm for a genuinely awesome couple.

By the way, it was a pleasure working with Bruce Garner of Clair Pruett Video and internet sensation Tony Hoffer. This week's photos were all shot by Tony and his wife (who has the best permasmile around). You can see them here!

Congratulations, Lauren and Phillip!

A Natural Setting For A Relaxed Affair

There is a distinct awesomeness about a semi-outdoor event on a comfortably warm Spring evening. The beautiful natural setting that holds Morris Arboretum in place is relaxing, quiet and a vividly colorful backdrop for ceremony and reception photos.

Morris Arboretum weddingSpeaking of photos, I want to say it was a pleasure working with Joy Zaffarano. Considering her very pleasant nature and ability in capturing the images without interfering in the flow of the event or soliciting contrived images are very likely why she was selected to record the event's pictures.

While this is generally true at most weddings, one of the most important aspects of this particular wedding was music. In this case, the father of the bride himself was a musician, as well as several of the guests. One guest played an original classical guitar piece for the procession of the bridal party and bride at the beginning of the ceremony. It was remarkable.

Between the dancing, the photobooth, the cigars and the ever-flowing drinks... this was a loud and very fun party! I am genuinely very happy to have been a part of a celebration filled with so many great friends and family.

Congratulations, Allison and Justin!
