Conshy Comes To Horsham

Blair Mill Inn weddingsJenna & David
September 21, 2007
Blair Mill Inn
Horsham, PA
Web Site

Jenna & David's celebration was hosted at one of the most well-known and fun locations in the Montgomery and Bucks County areas. The Blair Mill Inn continuously evolves as a facility that a bride and groom can host their affair and feel completely comfortable and confident.

Blair Mill Inn weddingA majority of Jenna & David's friends and family all hailed from Conshohocken, a small-town community situated in a thriving cultural base.

Basically put, these people came to party.

The evening started with a cocktail hour being held in a separate ballroom, where a pianist played some light jazz while guests conversed. After cocktails, the guests made their way into the Grand Ballroom for some food and fun.

After the bride and groom's first dance, a blessing, and two toasts (with one toast including stories about David's feet), the bride and groom shared a dance with their respective father and mother.Blair Mill Inn wedding

Dinner seemingly flew by! Before long, the bride and groom were standing on the center of the dance floor deciding (after cutting the main cake) if they would be cutting Walter the Cake Dog... (See above)

Walter was spared the indignity of having his tail end chopped off.

Everyone danced and had a great time until the evening came to a close!

Congratulations, Jenna and David!

From Pineapples To Pretzels

Concordville Inn weddingsLiz & Cha
September 21, 2007
Concordville Inn
Concordville, PA
Web Site

Ye Olde Concordville Inn has been a popular stopping place for hungry and weary travelers since it was first established in 1777. This historical property has long enjoyed an excellent reputation for serving the finest in food and refreshment.

Concordville Inn weddingLiz and Cha hail from the sunny state of Hawaii, but their roots are in the Philadelphia area. While the climate change wasn't very welcome to Liz and Cha, they were extremely happy to be in the company of their friends and family once again.

Liz was also very pleased to be back in the Philadelphia area for another reason. It seems that for all of Hawaii's splendor, the people of Hawaii cannot supply her with one of the mainland's fiest delicacies: The soft pretzel.

Upon arriving back in Philadelphia, Liz claimed that one of the first things she got her hands on was an authentic Philly favorite. As a "midnight snack", the guests were also served heart-shaped soft pretzels in the cocktail area.

After entering the ballroom and sharing their first dance as a newly married couple, the friends and family were treated to two of the best toasts I have heard in a long time. The best man began, recounting funny stories about the groom, getting a lot of laughs from everyone in attendance.Concordville Inn wedding

The maid of honor followed, giving a speech composed almost entirely of lyrics from 80's TV sitcoms. When she completed her speech, we began dinner by listening to a few theme songs from The Facts Of Life, The Love Boat, and The Greatest American Hero.

Everyone danced from start to end, including Cha, who could be seen on the dance floor nearly all night!

Congratulations, Liz and Cha!

Liz & Cha's comments about their wedding entertainment:

"Steve was awesome! His enthusiasm and professionalism were key to our night being so wonderful. Our only complaint was that the party ended too soon, but that's not Steve's fault! We've been recommending him to everyone we know who is getting married. Thanks Steve!"

A Bash By America's Birthplace

Down Town Club weddingsMegan & Daniel
September 15, 2007
The Down Town Club
Philadelphia, PA
Web Site

Founded in 1897, The Down Town Club was an exclusive private luncheon and social club for some of Philadelphia's most prominent families for 98 years. It is certain that many important business decisions affecting the city were made under this prestigious roof.

Downtown Club weddingRecently, The Down Town Club has been updated with rich new colors and fabrics, while maintaining the grandeur and integrity of the original space.

The view from the ballrooms of the Down Town Club is not only beautiful, but is also extremely historically important to the nation. From above, you can and see Independence National Historical Park, the sites where the Declaration of Independence was debated and adopted and where the Liberty Bell currently resides.

Other than Daniel injuring his foot a few weeks ago, Megan & Daniel's day was without flaw!

After arriving, the guests mingled in the Grill Room and listened to music while enjoying each other's company and waiting for the opening of the Grand Ballroom.DownTown Club/Public Ledger wedding

After entering the ballroom and sharing their first dance as husband and wife, dinner began. It wasn't long before the guests were up on their feet and dancing the night away!

At one point, the Wedgewood Room opened, revealing a full Viennese dessert table and chefs preparing flambéed Bananas Foster and Cherries Jubilee.

Towards the end of the evening, the guests honored Megan's recently departed sister, sharing in a dance to Faith Hill's "There You'll Be". It was a very emotional moment considering Lindsay's passing was very sudden and how much she was loved by everyone who knew her.

In the end, the guests loudly cheered the newlyweds as they got ready to head off on their honeymoon.

Congratulations, Megan and Daniel!

Megan & Daniel's comments about their wedding entertainment:

"Steve is the best! We just can not say enough good things about him! My fiance and I dated for 13 years, so when a wedding was finally in the planning stages we wanted everything to be perfect. He met with us, was an absolute joy, and was the ONLY choice. Unfortunately, perfection was not meant to be. When my younger sister was tragically killed, Steve was beyond sympathetic, offering to help with groceries, etc. I just could not believe the generosity. When Daniel tore his Achillies tendon Steve came to our apartment to meet with us and assured us everything would be great. Somehow, I knew he would make things alright. He said he prefers to be a "WED" (Wedding Entertainment Director) than a "DJ" and that he was. He was there every step of the way, checking in with us throughout the entire event, and making sure everything was as close to perfect as possible. We were so blessed to have had such a wonderful "WED", and we are even more blessed to have met a great friend. Thank you Steve! Congratulations to those who are able to secure him for their important event!"

A Contemporary Celebration In Doylestown

Aldie Mansion weddingsCourtney & Kerry
September 14, 2007
Aldie Mansion
Doylestown, PA
Web Site

Courtney & Kerry's entire wedding took place at the historic Aldie Mansion. Because of Aldie Mansion's history as a private residence, it is an extremely comfortable setting for a wedding reception and/or ceremony.

Aldie Mansion weddingThe day began with an intimate ceremony shared under the boughs of a black oak tree in the garden.

Courtney and Kerry walked down the aisle to classical music and progressed to the cocktail terrace where a small jazz ensemble played swing and big band favorites.

The evening moved along nicely, transitioning from dinner to dancing with guests moving throughout the mansion to enjoy drinks, a Viennese dessert display, and stepping outside to have a conversation under the stars.Aldie Mansion wedding

The dance time started a little slow, but as the night went on, the floor grew and grew with more smiling and laughing guests.

The skies above teased rain all afternoon and evening, but did not begin to fall until the bride and groom were in their car with the gifts packed and ready to go.

It was a perfect end to a perfect day!

Congratulations, Courtney and Kerry!

"Be A Bad Wedding DJ" Contest

I will be giving away $100.00 to one lucky winner.

Here is what you need to do:

Using your non-professional talents as an announcer, record your best impression of what you think a bad wedding DJ doing the grand entrance/introductions for your wedding party would sound like.

Entries will be posted on this web site and subjected to an internet audience for their votes.

The winner will be announced on Monday, October 15, 2007.

Introductions should include background music and people announced, in order: Parents, Bridal party, Ring Bearer and Flower Girl, Maid or Matron of Honor, Best Man, and of course, the Bride and Groom. If you're not sure what song to use, may I suggest "Get Ready For This" performed by Crazy Frog or "Supermodel" by RuPaul?

Send your mp3s to stevecroce at silversound dot com no later than October 5, 2007.

OK! You have just under a month to get it going, so put on your blue-ruffled tuxedo and get cheesy!

Wedding Mapper

I just found a very useful online utility!

It's called Wedding Mapper and it can help you provide some comfort to your out-of-town friends and family. Along with giving them ideas for places to dine, have fun, get a hotel room, it also provides them with information about where your ceremony and reception will be taking place and more!

It's all on one map and it's completely FREE!

I set one up in about fifteen minutes! You can see it here:

Greetings From Venice, Italy!

I just received the following email from Sarah and Zack, two newlywed clients of mine, along with two photos I thought I would share:

"Hi Steve,

We’re finally getting back into the swing of things here (or at least pretending to) and wanted to send you a quick email to thank you again for all you did to make our day so special! We’ve received tons of compliments on our Entertainment Director ;)

Thank you for posting the pictures you took at our wedding on your website! My entire family has enjoyed looking at them. You got some terrific shots; you're quite the photographer!

I also wanted to let you know that I was definitely inspired by the website you told me about. Nothing too crazy — I’m still holding out hope that my younger sister may want to wear my dress, so I didn’t want to destroy it - but it is fun to know that it has traveled all the way to Venice with us for our honeymoon!"

Very awesome, guys! Thanks for your kind words! You guys were so much fun to work with!

Congratulations, once again!

A Heavy Metal Wedding

RiverCrest Golf Club weddingsKrisi & Joe
September 8, 2007
RiverCrest Golf Club & Preserve
Oaks, PA
Web Site

Yes, you read that right...

Krisi and Joe's wedding day was hosted at the lavish and stylish RiverCrest Golf Club and Preserve in Oaks. RiverCrest Golf Club wedding

Their day began with a ceremony out by the pool and waterfall. While it was a little hot outside, the ceiling fans overhead kept the guests cool and comfortable while the vows were spoken.

Along with an ice bar and a fountain on the guestbook table, Krisi and Joe had spared no expense in making certain that their wedding day was dressed perfectly with great enhancements.

After entering the room and sharing their first dance, the guests began to enjoy some dinner, prepared by the superior chefs at RiverCrest. During dinner, Krisi and Joe stepped on to the dance floor once again, this time being joined by their son and daughter. It was very cool to watch as they shared a dance with a young man and young lady they both loved very much.RiverCrest Golf Club wedding

As the night went on, we first enjoyed some of the standard wedding-type music like "Brick House" and "Play That Funky Music", but then moved into some of the bride and groom's favorite music.

I honestly can't remember the last time I played "Rock Lobster" (you can see video of the bride dancing with her father to that song below), but I CAN tell you that I never played some of Krisi and Joe's other selections ever before.

Sevendust, Biohazard, and Sinister to name a few... Click those links at your own risk.

Krisi and Joe had also prepared custom CDs for the guests to take home. They included the bride and groom's first dance song, a few nice wedding classic ballads, and the always-a-wedding-favorite track "Hell Awaits" by Slayer.

It was an intense night!

Congratulations, Krisi and Joe!

Krisi & Joe's comments about their wedding entertainment:

"Steve was GREAT!! The way he got everyone off their butts in the beginning and on the dance floor was awesome. People loved it, they are still talking about it 3 weeks later!! I did not even know some of those people danced, so it was a nice surprise. Everything went very smooth for the ceremony and during the whole reception!!"
